Switching loyalties: Jam Madad Ali to join Pakistan Peoples Party

He will make announcement in press conference soon

KARACHI:
Pakistan Muslim League — Functional (PML-F) MPA Jam Madad Ali has decided to join Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).

He made the decision after his meeting with PPP MNA Faryal Talpur in Karachi. The switch is likely to affect Pir Pagara-led political party as Ali, who is the nephew of former chief minister Jam Sadiq, has considerable influence in the PS-81 (Sanghar) constituency, from where Ali also recently won the by-election.

Sources privy to the development told The Express Tribune that Ali, who also served as opposition leader in Sindh Assembly, will formally announce his new affiliation soon during a press conference alongside chief minister Murad Ali Shah and PPP, Sindh, president Nisar Ahmed Khuhro.  Some time ago, PML-F leaders Imtiaz Shaikh and Muhammad Ali Jamote also defected to the PPP.

“The current Pir sahib is not interested in politics and his younger brother Sadaruddin Shah Rashdi’s politics has completed changed. He does not take anybody into confidence, which is why most of the workers and leaders are leaving the party,” said a party leader, requesting anonymity.

However, the PML-F spokesperson denied the allegations and said that the party is quiet stable.
