LAHORE: Around 90% of the children abducted from different parts of the province have been rescued. This was said by Advocate General of Punjab Shakilur Rehman Khan on Wednesday. While submitting a report on progress in child abduction cases, he told the Supreme Court that the children were not abducted for sale of organs from their bodies. However, during the hearing, a senior civil judge, Yousaf Haroon, told the court his son, who went missing a few months ago, was not rescued yet. When the court asked, a police officer from Rawalpindi said practical steps were being taken for rescue of the judge’s son and that would be done soon. The bench, headed by Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, made Shakilur Rehman’s report part of the case and adjourned it till the next month. The court had taken a suo motu notice against the increasing number of children being abducted in Punjab.
