The restaurant, Zaza Bar & Bites, in Galveston, Texas was smeared with bacon last Sunday. Asad Khan, the 44-year-old owner of the restaurant says he was taken aback by the incident. Khan, who is Muslim, was stunned to find the front of his restaurant soiled with bacon.
"It shook me," Khan said. "It took me off guard because I wasn't expecting that."

This was the second time Khan had arrived to find bacon smeared on the front of his restaurant. In the same week, Khan had discovered bacon grease on the front door handles of his restaurant. He has reported the incident to Galveston police, however, no arrests have been made so far.
Khan has also received nearly five threatening phone calls asking him to return to his country. Khan says he is concerned about the safety of his employees.
Khan, who moved to the United States in 1993, says most of his experience in Galveston has been positive.
"I don't have a victim mentality," he said. "I'm blessed to live in this country. Ninety-nine per cent of my experience here has been nothing but phenomenal."

Khan now plans to upgrade the security arrangements of the restaurant by putting up cameras outside the restaurant's premises.
"I feel bad for whomever did this because they're carrying so much hate in them," Khan said. "I will get over this. I hope they get peace."
