Extensions approved for SHC judges
President Zardari approves grants of one-year extensions in the tenure of four additional judges of the SHC.
KARACHI:
On the recommendations of the parliamentary committee for judges’ appointment and on the advice of the prime minister, President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday approved grants of one-year extensions in the tenure of four additional judges of the Sindh High Court (SHC).
These additional judges of the SHC, according to presidential spokesperson Farhatullah Babar, are: Justice Imam Bakhsh Baloch, Justice Nisar Muhammad Shaikh, Justice Syed Hassan Azhar Rizvi and Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar.
The one-year extension will be effective from the date on which the current tenure of a judge expires. In a related development President Zardari, acting on the advice of the prime minister, also accepted the request of Justice Zahid Hussain of the Supreme Court for early retirement.
