Raids: Pharmacies sealed for selling illegal drugs
The complaints were forwarded to drug inspectors who raided the shops

Several drug stores were sealed in Peshawar for not having licenses to run their businesses besides many other shops were closed for selling illegal drugs with majority banned medicines imported from India.
According to details, Peshawar’s Deputy Commissioner Riaz Mehsood received complaints from the general public that some pharmacies outside Naseerullah Babar Hospital on Kohat road were not listed and were selling illegal drugs.
The complaints were forwarded to drug inspectors who raided the shops.
Drug Inspector Imran stated that they collected a huge amount of illegal drugs besides expired medicines at the stores.
He said that pharmacists insisted that the expired drugs were kept to be sent back but had not stored them separately.
Imran further said that most of the pharmacies did not have licences.
