Face Defaced: Weeks-old body found on hills

Police have registered a murder case against Iftikhar and Zahid Mehmood

ISLAMABAD:
Police on Monday found the decaying body of a 40-year-old man near Daman-e-Koh. The body appeared to be at least three weeks old and the face had been mutilated. The deceased – later identified as property dealer Muhamad Zaryab Abbasi – was reported missing since October 18. He hailed from Murree and lived in a rented house near Faizabad. After he went missing in October, the family reported it to the Karachi Company police. Police said a post-mortem of the body at Polyclinic hospital on Tuesday found that the man’s face was defaced with acid. Police also believed that the man was murdered elsewhere before his body was dumped on the hills. On the complaint of the victim’s father, the police have registered a murder case against Iftikhar and Zahid Mehmood.
