Robbery case Seven-year jail term awarded in DG Khan

After the incident, the accused fled the scene but were later arrested by the police

DERA GHAZI KHAN: A court awarded seven-year jail terms to three accused for their involvement in a robbery case in Dera Ghazi Khan on Tuesday. The prosecution told the court that accused Ramzan, Fida Hussain and Nawaz committed robbery in the house of Muhammad Essa in 2009. However, the police arrested the accused and produced them before the court. After hearing arguments, Civil Judge Faraz Arshad awarded  seven years’ rigorous imprisonment to the three accused and sent them to jail.

Earlier in October, at least two men were awarded death sentences in separate murder cases in Dera Ghazi Khan. Accused Rashid, Nabi Baksh and Abdul Rehman killed Hasnain and Nazo Mai over suspicion of having illicit relations.

After the incident, the accused fled the scene but were later arrested by the police. Following proceedings, the court sentenced Rashid to death and imposed a fine of Rs0.3 million. However, the court acquitted Nabi Baksh and Abdul Rehman for lack of evidence.
