KARACHI: The namaz-e-janaza of slain Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) worker Muhammad Waseem Raja alias Raja was held Tuesday afternoon.

According to the party, Waseem was killed in a police detention cell. However, the police claimed that he committed suicide. MQM supporters gathered to attend Raja's funeral and later protested his death in Orangi Town. SSP West Nasir Aftab claimed that he committed suicide in a lock-up at around 2am on Sunday.

Meanwhile, MQM-London leader Nadeem Nusrat claimed that the incident was an 'extrajudicial killing'.

MQM-Pakistan's Farooq Sattar has asked the CM to take notice of the incident.
