6 must-have songs on your mehndi playlist

We guarantee they’ll have the dance floor pumpin’ in no time

Amna Hashmi December 06, 2016

The winter wedding season has finally arrived and brought with itself all the singing, dancing and chicken tikka we’ve been craving all year. If you’ve got a wedding coming up and are still confused as to which songs to play to get everyone grooving, we’ve got you covered! Here is a list of six mehndi must-have hits from this year. We guarantee they’ll have the dance floor pumpin’ in no time. Happy dancing!

1) Kaala Chashma

Of course this one is the first to make it to our list. Considering how wildly popular the song (and Katrina Kaif’s abs) became, it would be a sin to have a mehndi and not dance on Kaala Chashma. So gather your crew and get down to mastering the moves. We’re speaking from experience when we say that it’ll be a while before you can pull them off as well as Sidharth and Kat did…

2) The Break Up Song

Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil may have met with mixed reviews but we can safely say that its soundtrack had everyone floored. Apart from the fan-favourite Channa Mereya, the film also had this one super cute and quirky number called The Break Up Song that is sure to become one of the top mehndi hits of the season. It’s got a joyful vibe and fun vocals by none other than Arijit Singh the great… what else do you want?

3) Let’s Nacho

This song hardly needs an explanation. Iss ka tau naam hee kaafi hai!

4) Baby Ko Base Pasand Hai

Salman Khan’s Sultan was one of the biggest hits of the year, as was this song. Baby Ko Base Pasand Hai starts off with a catchy traditional intro and then turns into an upbeat track about a boy trying to woo his lady love, who refuses to take him seriously. Boys, time for you to grab your babies and get them groovin’ to the base too.

5) Balle Balle

Brides, pay attention!  If you’re looking for the ideal entry song for yourselves, this one is really it. And the best part is that the video for Balle Balle has got plenty of dancing in it so you need not worry about making up steps. Simply get on to YouTube and channel your inner Mahira Khan! Also, if you focus on its lyrics, the song’s all about starting a new life with your husband/wife to be…. perfect for the occasion.

6) Malhari

Who better than the ever-energetic Ranveer Singh to draw dance inspiration from? This Bajirao Mastani hit has been doing the wedding rounds all year now and shows no signs of getting old any time soon. Malhari is a great song for the groom to dance with his crew on, full of energy and drama.
