LAHORE: A man hailing from Punjab's Chiniot district on Tuesday strangled his five children to death before committing suicide.

Three days earlier, 35-year-old Muhammad Hussain divorced his wife and forced her out of their home in Moza Dalail Wala, a police official told The Express Tribune.

Sajida Bibi was forced to leave all five of her children at home, including a daughter and four younger sons. She then travelled a few miles away to her parents' home where she resided.

When Sajida refused to return despite his attempts to convince her, Hussain killed all of their children and hanged himself.
