The victim’s father said he did not know what drove his son to commit suicide

A teenaged seminary student committed suicide in a remote village of Havelian Tehsil, police said on Monday. Abdul Qayum, a resident of Jhangra village, told police that his 16-year-old son, Muhammad Ibrahim, was a student at a local seminary where he was learning the Holy Quran. However, on Sunday afternoon he went to his room where he shot himself in the chest, causing critical injuries. He was rushed to the Havelian hospital but bled out and died, Qayum said. The victim’s father said he did not know what drove his son to commit suicide.
