Tribal belt to get Rs10.5b for uplift projects

Amount released by provincial govt for 170 new projects in the tribal belt of District Dera Ghazi Khan

MULTAN:
An amount of Rs10.5 million has been released by the provincial government for 170 new projects in the tribal belt of District Dera Ghazi Khan, Commissioner Muhammad Yasrab said.

He was addressing a meeting of district officers at the District Coordination Office (DCO) office on Monday. He said 170 new projects include construction of roads and 39 buildings and water supply and sewerage lines in rural areas. He added that effective steps were being taken to complete work on these projects soon.

World Bank to provide $650m for uplift projects


Yasrab directed officials of the department concerned to devise an effective plan for the timely completion of these projects. He said there will be no compromise over the standard of material used for the development projects.

DCO Nadeemur Rahman said a new scheme at a cost of Rs107 million has also been approved, adding Rs500 million would be spent on 10 new public health schemes.
