A short-film screening themed around violence against women was held at the Kinnaird College (KC) on Monday in connection with the 16 Days of Activism campaign. The event titled ‘Her Talk’ was held in collaboration with the All-Pakistan Women Association (APWA) and Punjab Women Development Department. A total of eight short films were presented at the event with ‘Ghalti Hai, Magar Humari Nahi’ securing the first position. Chief guest Faryal Ali Gohar and others addressed the students and emphasized that women should be portrayed positively rather than in a negative sense. They applauded the matchless efforts of students for portraying sensitive issues of Pakistani society in these short films. Faryal, Haseeb Khan and Women Development Department Secretary Bushra Aman also performed their duties as judges for screening these short films, which were produced by Bachelor’s and MPhil students of the KC’s Media Studies Department. KC Principal Dr Rukhsana David appreciated the performance of students and encouraged them to continue working towards women empowerment. Appreciation certificates were distributed among students.
