The Balochistan government is considering plan to increase the job quota for disabled persons from two to three per cent. The provincial government has also decided to upgrade one of the four schools into a college for special persons in Quetta.
This was disclosed by the Director General of Social Welfare Department Musarat Jabeen while speaking at a special function in Quetta, in connection with the international day of persons with disabilities, on Saturday.
Busting myths about disability
The function was arranged by the province’s social welfare department, with the collaboration of Balochistan Rural Support Programme (BRSP) and other social welfare organisations. A large number of disabled persons were present on the occasion. Chief Executive of BRSP Nadir Gul, and Secretary Religious Affairs Zeeshanul Haq was also present.
