2,500 acre of forest land retrieved from ‘mafia’

KARACHI: The police and the Sindh Forest Department have managed to retrieve 2,500 acres of forest land in Hala, Saeedabad and Matiari.

The home department had earlier warned the land grabbers to vacate the land in Hyderabad district within the deadline, said a spokesperson of the department. He added that the police and the forest department decided to take joint action. They will release a total of 8,500 acres of land in Thatta, Dadu and Larkana.

In Thatta, 2,000 acres of forest land in Bao Puran Das, Bajora and Halya forests will be vacated from ‘land grabbers’ while 3,000 acres of land of Kandmaru, Sonabandi, Kachomagsi and Nari forests in the Dadu division will be vacated.
