Double murder case: Man sentenced to death in Sargodha

The court awarded death sentence to the culprit along with fine of Rs0.5 million

SARGODHA: A court awarded the death sentence to an accused for his involvement in a double murder case in Sargodha on Thursday. The judgment was announced by District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Tariq Javed.

The prosecution told the court that accused Sahib Khan, a resident of Bowla Village in Joharabad Tehsil, had gunned down his wife and daughter in May 2015 as he doubted their character.

However, the police arrested the accused and produced him before the court. After hearing the arguments and analyzing the evidences, the judge awarded death sentence to Sahib Khan and also imposed a fine of Rs1 million.

Earlier on November 18, Additional District and Sessions Judge Ghaffar Mehtab awarded death sentence to an accused involved in a murder case of Joharabad police station. According to the prosecution, accused Muhammad Zubair had killed Muhammad Waris five years ago. After he was found guilty of the murder, the court awarded death sentence to the culprit along with fine of Rs0.5 million.
