Defeat Bangladesh in another lop-sided win
India Women kept their perfect record in the ongoing Women’s Twenty20 Asia Cup intact with a 52-run win over Bangladesh Women at the Asian Institute of Technology Ground in Bangkok, Thailand yesterday.
After opting to bat first, India scored 121 runs in their allotted 20 overs, thanks to opener Mithali Raj’s 59-ball 62 laced with six boundaries.
In reply, Bangladesh could only muster 69 runs as apart from Prasadani Weerakkody (14) and Dilani Surangika (20) none of their batters even entered double figures.
Women’s T20 Asia Cup: Pakistan beaten by India in last-over drama
For India, Preeti Bose and Ekta Bishta took three apiece, while Raj was adjudged the player of the match for her half-century.
In the day’s other match, Thailand Women got their first win of the tournament by defeating bottom-dwellers Nepal Women by eight wickets.
