Pakistani social entrepreneur Syed Faizan Hussain has won the Queen's Young Leaders Award 2017 for formulating solutions to health problems bedeviling Pakistan.
Syed has developed a number of startups including Edu-Aid, an app that translates sign language into spoken language and OneHealth, a disease surveillance and tracking system which notifies health institutions about epidemic outbreaks.

The young entrepreneur also works as a voluntary teacher at Saylani Welfare Trust and has mentored over 200 students from underprivileged households by teaching them computer programming.
Syed is currently developing a technology consultant and outsourcing company Venture Dart for small businesses and entrepreneurs.

The Queen’s Young Leaders Programme aims to discover and support exceptional young people across the Commonwealth.
Winners of the prestigious award also receive training, mentoring and networking, including a one-week residential programme in the UK where they also receive their award from Her Majesty The Queen.
