Cosmologist Stephen Hawking has recommended people to eat less and take more physical activity to avoid increasing complications related to obesity.

“Today too many people die from complications related to overweight and obesity,” Hawking addressed the seriousness of obesity in an ad campaign to promote the work of the Swedish non-profit company GEN-PEP.

Obesity, a global killer, on the rise in developing world

Providing a solution to deal with the problem of obesity, Hawking says, “More physical activity and change in diet. It’s not rocket science.”

After playing the video of Hawking delivering his speech, the low-budget ad ends with three written statements: "Physical inactivity is now the world's fourth leading cause of death," "Required physical activity per day: Adults 30 minutes," and "Required physical activity per day: Children 60 minutes."
