Five suspected militants were killed in a gun battle with security forces in the Talli area of Sibi on Tuesday.
Sources revealed that Frontier Corps personnel, acting on a tip-off, conducted a search operation in the Talli area.
After security forces cordoned off the area the militants opened fire on them which was retaliated by the security personnel.
“Five armed suspected militants have been killed in the heavy exchange of fire,” a FC spokesman said, adding that three secret hideouts of the militants were demolished by the security forces during the search operation.
“The armed men killed in the operation were involved in extortion, attacks on passenger trains, security forces, gas installations,” the FC spokesman said.
