Women’s T20 Asia Cup: Pakistan beaten by India in last-over drama

Pakistan women’s cricket team on Tuesday lost to Indian women’s team by five wickets in the Asian Cricket Council Women's Twenty20 Asia Cup played in Asian Institute of Technology Ground, Bangkok.
After winning the toss, India invited Pakistan to bat first who were able to manage 97 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their 20 overs. Nain Abidi top-scored with 37, meanwhile opener Ayesha Zafar contributed 28 important runs.
The only other player to enter double figures was Iram Javed (10). For India, Ekta Bisht bagged three scalps while Anuja Patil and captain Harmanpreet Kaur each bagged a brace.
When asked to chase 98 runs, India rode on the back of opener Mithali Raj’s 36. Meanwhile Kaur, later awarded player-of-the-match, scored an unbeaten 26 to lead the team past the finish line.
Sadia Yousuf and Nida Dar accounted for willow wielders while captain Sana Mir took one wicket.
Earlier, Pakistan beat Nepal by nine wickets in their first match of the tournament. They then defeated Sri Lanka by eight wickets in their second match.
Their next fixture places them against Bangladesh on November 30 at Bangkok.
