After 2-0 defeat to NZ, Pakistan drop to fourth in Tests

Pakistan Test team slipped from second to fourth spot in the International Cricket Council’s Test team rankings on Tuesday after they were whitewashed 2-0 by New Zealand.

Pakistan, before going into the series against New Zealand, were on 109 points, however, defeats at Christchurch and Hamilton pushed them down to 102 points. Misbahul Haq's men lead South Africa (102) on decimal points.

Meanwhile, England (105) have moved up to the second position followed by Australia (105) on third, with the former leading on decimal points. India still lead the Test team rankings with 115 points on the board.

New Zealand (96), after beating Pakistan, have gained five points to move to the sixth position from seventh above Sri Lanka (96).

Last month, Pakistan were toppled from their number one spot in Test rankings by India after Virat Kohli and his men whitewashed the Kiwis 3-0.

Waqar | 8 years ago | Reply Shameful defeat at the hands of Newzealand in the 2nd test. I will give blame to the playing eleven and selection as well. Moreover, Asad Shafiq performance he has now become first pakistani to get highest ZEROS to his credit. He should be dropped immediately from the Australia Tour alongwith Younis. To give more depth to the batting, Please call Kamran Akmal who is at his peak form these days and has achieved highest runs in the domestic cricket. The politics in the cricket board is not understand able. I request the honourable chairman to kindly intervene the selection and use his authority. The whole nation want to see our national team on top. Further Asad Shafiq be dropped immediately as he is not capable to score any runs on the bouncy pitches. Waqar.
