Treason charges: LHC seeks interior ministry report in Altaf case
The bench adjourned the hearing till December 7 and ordered the interior secretary to submit a detailed report

The Lahore High Court has rejected the interior ministry’s report on action taken in a treason case against London-based Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Altaf Hussain.
On Monday, Justice Syed Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi remarked the government should define, on record, the steps being taken to initiate treason proceedings. The bench stated political reactions would be seen to afterwards and asked the federal government for its opinion on treason proceedings.
Interior Secretary Arif Khan presented a report, claiming Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar had taken up the issue with British authorities.
