On Monday, Justice Syed Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi remarked the government should define, on record, the steps being taken to initiate treason proceedings. The bench stated political reactions would be seen to afterwards and asked the federal government for its opinion on treason proceedings.
Interior Secretary Arif Khan presented a report, claiming Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar had taken up the issue with British authorities.
The bench adjourned the hearing till December 7 and ordered the interior secretary to submit a detailed report on the matter.
