The Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) has approved the confirmation of two Islamabad High Court judges.
The commission has also recommended one nominee for appointment as a judge of the Peshawar High Court (PHC).
A meeting of the JCP was held on Saturday to consider the conformation of two IHC judges as well as the appointments of five new PHC judges.
Sources told The Express Tribune that the commission has approved the confirmation of IHC additional judges Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb. The tenures of both would have ended on December 23, 2016. The total strength of the IHC is seven judges, and no seats would be vacant if the two are confirmed.
