Firdous Carnival draws in a crowd

This season Firdous Cloth takes a step further then the rest and brings forth Firdous Carnival.

KARACHI:
This season Firdous Cloth takes a step further then the rest and brings forth Firdous Carnival. The two-day event opened at Pearl Continental Hotel on February 26.

The Summer Collection 2011, brings in three types of variety by Firdous, informs its Director Omer Saleem,  the three types range from Rs2,000 and move up to Rs 8,000 for the finest quality of the brands exclusive prêt line.

While talking to The Express Tribune Omer Saleem said, “It’s reasonably priced, we are offering quality products. With the price of yarn being so high, we have certainly not kept our profit margin in mind this time.”

Without naming any of the competitors, Saleem said, “In comparison to the other low-quality lawn that’s in the market by our competitors in this field, we have been very brand conscious and believe that we take good care of our customers. The price of yarn has risen and in addition to that the price of cotton has also increased. Hence, we have displayed an exclusive collection, with the pretext to let people know that we are reasonably priced.”

Interestingly enough, the carnival seems to have taken off in two major cities of Pakistan and on further enquiry Saleem said that Lahore sales are keeping up with the hyped purchases made in Karachi.  “I have heard from the shop assistants that it is selling good in Lahore. We are still considered economical there for we match the good quality products we offer,” said Saleem.

As far as the brand ambassador of the Firdous Collection 2011 is concerned, Omer Saleem said, “Shaista Wahidi is the local brand ambassador and our international face is the Indian superstar Deepika Padukone.”

Last year the Firdous Collection endorsed Kareena Kapoor as their international brand ambassador. “She was a good option from the rest of the celebrities. She is a style icon, it works since we have a market in India and Dubai, Asian people know her well,” added Saleem.
