Defeat Nepal Women by nine wickets in opening game of Women’s Twenty20 Asia Cup

Sana Mir, Anum Amin and Sadia Yousuf led Pakistan Women to victory in their opening match of the Women’s Twenty20 Asia Cup as they defeated Nepal by nine wickets at Asian Institute of Technology Cricket Ground in Bangkok yesterday.
This is Pakistan Women’s first victory following 12 straight defeats in international matches.
After electing to bat first, Nepal just could not withstand Pakistan’s bowling attack as Sana, Anum and Sadia claimed two wickets apiece and restrict Nepal to just 47 runs in 18.1 overs.
Nepal’s captain Rubina Chhetry Belbashi (11) was the only player to reach double figures, while Bismah Maroof and Asmavia Iqbal were the other two bowlers from Pakistan to be among the wickets.

Chasing 48 runs, Pakistan reached the target in 10 overs with nine wickets to spare as Ayesha Zafar scored 26 off 35 balls hitting three fours while Javeria Khan contributed with 16 runs off 21 balls.
No Nepali bowler was able to claim any wickets with Pakistan’s sole dismissal — Ayesha in the 10th over — came from a run out.
Meanwhile in the other match of the day, India Women defeated Bangladesh Women by 64 runs.
5-0 series defeat: Pakistan Women clean-swept by New Zealand
Having been asked to bat first, India Women set a strong 119-run target as openers Mithali Raj and Smriti Mandhana made 49 and 41 runs respectively to give their team a strong start.
Mithali, who remained unbeaten, kept her ground as wickets kept tumbling at the other end to ensure India reach 118.
In reply, Bangladesh bundled out for just 54 runs as Poonam Yadav claimed three wickets, while Jhulan Goswani and Anuja Patil took two wickets apiece.
