Chemistry Conference: Academic collaboration highlighted

Researchers and academics pledged to serve society through their applied and innovative research work. This was the crux of the discourse at a two-day international conference organised by Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) on Friday. The main topic of discussion covered was the recent trends in the field of chemistry which had been organised by the university’s department of chemistry in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC), said a press release. The different countries represented at the conference included USA, China, Malaysia, Germany, and Poland. HEC Chairman Mukhtar Ahmed said that emphasis must be laid on the construction of knowledge and its dissemination among end users via research journals and conferences. AIOU Vice Chancellor Shahid Siddiqui said that research-based collaborative partnerships with relevant national and international varsities should be promoted.
