DERA GHAZI KHAN:
Armed men looted a furniture shop in Dera Ghazi Khan on Wednesday. Subsequently,  furniture traders also protested against the incident.

The police said three robbers barged into a furniture shop at Kalma Chowk and held the shop owner Muhammad Siddique and other staff hostage at gunpoint. They looted Rs2.1 million and fled the scene. Soon after the incident, traders and the furniture market union staged a protest demonstration and demanded arrest of the culprits. The protesters closed the market and also burnt tyres.

While addressing the protesters, Furniture Market Union president Sheikh Muhammad Ashraf Suleiman said, “Police has failed to protect the lives and valuables of the citizens.” He demanded of the authorities to arrest the outlaws and recover the looted amount within two days. He threatened that traders will suspend business activity across the district if their demand was not met.
