PTI appoints Fawad Chaudhry as party spokesperson

No change in Naeemul Haque's position as PTI's central information secretary, says Imran Khan

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) appointed on Wednesday Fawad Chaudhry as a party spokesperson.

"It is hereby notified that Fawad Hussain is appointed as the party spokesperson," said the notification issued by PTI's Secretary General Jahangir Tareen.

However, according to Naeemul Haque, there is “no change in my position as central information secretary or chief spokesperson of the party. Welcome Fawad Ch as a spokesperson of PTI”.

Earlier, Tareen was quoted by PTI, saying both Haq and Chaudhry will jointly run the party's information department.

Naeem Bokhari to lead PTI's legal team in Panama leaks case

Party chairperson Imran Khan also confirmed the development, saying the party has "a team of PTI spokespersons to represent us on TV".

The announcement came just a day after Imran picked veteran lawyer Naeem Bokhari to lead a team of party’s lawyers in the ongoing Panamagate hearing in Supreme Court. Bokhari was appointed as Hamid Khan — PTI’s lead lawyer — disassociated himself from the case, citing media pressure.

Chaudhry contested NA-63 Jhelum by-elections on a PTI ticket but lost to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz candidate. He has previously been associated with Pakistan Peoples Party and former president Pervez Musharraf's All Pakistan Muslim League. He is a popular media personality, and hosts a talk show at a private TV channel.
