He said the Punjab chief minister has allocated special funds of Rs87.7 million for expanding the educational infrastructure by constructing the two new educational facilities.
Work on the special education centre in Saddar, Bahawalpur and the special education college in district Rahim Yar Khan is underway that would further strengthen the infrastructure for special children.
The Punjab government, Channar said, has launched a special programme to establish special education centres at district and tehsil levels in all the 36 districts of the province.
“A special initiative has also been taken to upgrade primary special educational centres to middle level while middle level institutes of training will be upgraded to the secondary level,” he claimed.

A stipend of Rs800 to special children along with free books and transportation facilities and accommodation is also provided by the provincial government.
