Assistant Foreign Minister: China supports Pakistan’s sovereignty

The official acknowledges sacrifices rendered by Pakistan in fighting terrorism and extremism, assures support

ISLAMABAD: Assistant Foreign Minister of China Kong Xuanyou met the Prime Minister’s Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz and Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry. During the meeting with Sartaj, Kong reiterated China’s continued support to Pakistan’s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity. He acknowledged the sacrifices rendered by Pakistan in fighting terrorism and extremism, and assured China’s full support. The adviser during the meeting underscored the importance that Pakistan attaches to its relations with China and underlined the need to hold regular high-level exchanges. During the bilateral meeting between the Foreign Secretary, the entire spectrum of bilateral relations, including China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), as well as regional and global issues of mutual concern were discussed.
