SIALKOT: The business community in Sialkot is making efforts to enhance the export volume despite obstacles that could be removed by authorities, Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) President Majid Raza Bhutta said. Talking to APP on Monday, he underscored the need to formulate a short-term and long-term “export policy” to bring much needed changes. “In the absence of an export policy, the business community is confronted with multiple problems hindering exports of the country,” he observed. He urged the government to take steps for clearance of outstanding rebate claims to facilitate the export sector, adding that blockage of rebate claims was creating financial constrains for the exporters. “The government should review its decision to increase gas tariff,” he added.
