ISLAMABAD:
Police have booked a man for allegedly killing his wife in the Merabadi area of Sector G-12. The suspect, however, claims that the woman died after falling down the stairs.

Ramna police registered a murder case against Muhammad Ali on the complaint of the woman’s father, Masood Ahmed.

The complainant told the police that his son-in-law called him on November 19 and told him that she had an accident and was admitted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims).

The father rushed to the hospital, where he was informed that they had taken her to a flat in G-10. He went there and found the body of his daughter, Daryab Masood. He was informed that his daughter died after falling down the stairs in a house in Merabadi, where the couple lived. The couple had been married four years.

When Ahmed went to the couple’s house in Merabadi – where the incident had reportedly taken place – to inspect the scene, people in the neighborhood told him that they had heard a lot of noise from the house the night she died and that his son-in-law had beaten his daughter.
