MARSEILLE: The partially burned body of schoolboy aged around 15 has been discovered in the French city of Marseille, the latest suspected murder linked to a brutal drugs turf war, local officials said Monday.

A passerby found the corpse on Friday in a desolate area of northeast Marseille, taking to 32 the number of people shot dead in the region this year.

The teenager, whose family had reported him missing, had been tied up, shot in the head and chest, and then burned in an execution method commonly used by gangsters in the city.

Marseille is a bustling port city on the Mediterranean coast known for its bouillabaisse fish soup and sunny weather, as well as its gun crime and rough housing estates.
