LAHORE: The health department has directed all district officers to complete on time schemes stipulated under the Annual Development Programme (ADP) of the current fiscal year.

Adviser to Chief Minister on Health Khawaja Salman Rafique ordered this while speaking at a meeting of the Health Executive District Officers (EDOs) at the Directorate General Health Services Punjab on Sunday.

Primary and Secondary Healthcare Secretary Ali Jan Khan said the government was focusing on preventive healthcare based on the study of successful models in the world. He also reviewed the financial and administrative issues being faced in the completion of ongoing projects in different districts. A fine should be imposed and a disciplinary action must be taken against staff not complying with biometric attendance. The status of basic health units in remote areas across the province, facilities and resources needed for improvement on grassroots level was also reviewed.
