World's leading band Coldplay is in India as part of the Global Citizen India initiative 2016, an annual music festival that began in 2012.

The band's frontman Chris Martin, who is also the creative director of the festival, performed a 90-minute gig with his group during the event in Mumbai on Saturday.

With more than 80,000 live audience at the venue, the concert was full of surprises, i.e. not only the presence of leading Bollywood celebrities, including Shah Rukh Khan and Farhan Akhtar, among others, but also a live address from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The fans and celebrities partied with Coldplay enough for everyone to call it a night; however, India Times reported that the politicians did not seem quite pleased with all that went on at the concert.

Particularly what displeased the Nationalist Congress Party leader Nawab Malik was an instance where Martin hooked the Indian flag from behind his trousers while performing at the centre of the stage.

A video of this was also uploaded on social media, creating an uproar and became the reason for Malik's rant against Martin as well as the politicians.
