LAHORE:
Azad Jammu and Kashmir President Masood Khan on Saturday said India is creating disturbances along the Line of Control only to undermine the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. “The firing on the LoC is a well thought out plan,” the president said.

Speaking at a meeting organised by the Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors, the president praised the role played by the media and military’s media wing Inter-Services Public Relations in the current situation. Zia Shahid, Aijazul Haq, Mujeebur Rehman Shami and Jameel Athar Qazi also addressed the meeting.

The president further said that Kashmiris were striving for their right to self-determination and will not accept the decisions taken without their consent. He stressed that Pakistan would have to improve its economic condition to resolve the Kashmir issue.

Masood said that the international community had turned a blind eye towards the plight of the Kashmiris. He pointed out that the United Nations, too, was not playing its due role in defusing the situation.

In response to a question, he said that the Pakistani media had played a crucial role in bringing out the truth behind India’s fabricated stories.
