Illegal housing society: City managers retrieve forest land   

Pperation was conducted by officers of the Enforcement Directorate, Environment Wing and other relevant authorities

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) Enforcement Directorate and the Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation (IMC) Environment Wing conducted a joint operation on Friday and retrieved 100 kanals of forest land from an illegal housing society. The project was named North Ridge and is adjacent to Sector D-12.

The operation was conducted by officers of the Enforcement Directorate, Environment Wing and other relevant authorities.

Environment wing staff were reportedly attacked by employees of the housing society when they tried to vacate the forest land. The operation was still completed successfully and the environment wing lodged an FIR against the suspects for interfering with official affairs.

Meanwhile, relevant formations of MCI and CDA were directed to establish check posts in the area so that proper monitoring and retrieval of residual forest land could be ensured.
