2 Sunni Tehreek workers, MQM man killed
The murders sparked riots in the city, two people were injured in aerial firing.

Two activists of Sunni Tehreek and an activist of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) were gunned down Thursday.
The ST workers were killed in Ranchore Lines where men on a motorcycle opened fire at 28-year-old Danish Qadri and his 32-year-old brother-in-law Waseem Qadri. They died on their way to Civil hospital. Party spokesperson Tariq Mughal confirmed that they were activists. Danish, a resident of Lyari, was a sector committee member, and Wasim, a resident of Bohra Pir, was a senior activist. Waseem’s elder brother was also targeted some time ago.
The news caused riots in parts of the city. Two people, Kiran Bibi and Muslim, were injured in aerial firing. An FIR has yet to be registered. Meanwhile, 45-year-old MQM worker Emran Qureshi was sitting outside his house when motorcyclists shot him and escaped. Qureshi was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he died. Qureshi’s niece is also an active member of the party, an officer said.
‘TTP man’ held
Sindh police’s Special Investigation Unit (SIU) claimed to have arrested a suspected member of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) on Thursday. The alleged TTP member was identified as Rahim Zada alias Sher Mohammad, son of Abdul Wakil. According to SIU officials, they arrested him during a raid in Landhi’s Feature Colony. He is said to be involved in terrorism acts in his hometown, Malakand Division, they said. He had been involved in kidnappings for ransom and attacks on security forces and their check posts. He escaped from Malakand and was hiding here in the city.
