Of mice and men: Gang of thieving domestic workers busted
Officials said that they robbed at least four houses in the capital during 2015 and 2016
ISLAMABAD:
Police on Thursday busted a five-member gang which had looted several houses while disguised as domestic workers.
The special investigation unit (SIU) of police said that the gang used to move house-to-house, city-to-city robbing houses while posing as domestic help.
Police said that the gang members were identified as Afsana alias Farzana, Hafeez Bibi alias Hafeezan, Haleema Bibi alias Memo, Faisal Shahzad alias Raju and Ali Sher alias Chooha. They all hailed from Faisalabad.
Officials said that they robbed at least four houses in the capital during 2015 and 2016. The SIU also recovered stolen valuables, including 237.5 grammes of gold, artificial jewellery sets and seven watches from the suspects.
Police added that the suspected thieves were also involved in similar incidents in other cities.
