KU extends admission dates for upcoming session

Varsity has also temporarily decreased late fee for evening programme students

KARACHI: Karachi University (KU) has extended the last date of submission of admission forms for Doctors of Pharmacy and test-based Bachelor's and Master's programmes for the 2017 session.

Admission forms, along with the booklet, can be obtained from the booth of United Bank Limited at the Silver Jubilee Gate till November 18 for Rs2,200. The last date has also been extended by two days for admissions in BS in Islamic Studies with Computer Technology's morning and evening programmes and also for postgraduate diplomas in Islamic Banking and Finance from the Shaikh Zayed Islamic Centre.

In another notification, KU's director of the evening programme, Prof Dr Abid Hasnain, said that evening programme students who have not yet deposited their tuition and examination fee will be exempted from paying 80% of the late fee.

The evening programme students shall deposit their tuition and examination fee till December 15, with the late fee paid in cash or via pay order at the UBL or HBL university branches between 3pm and 6pm.  After December 15, 2016, normal late fees will be charged.

Registrar Prof Dr Moazzam Ali Khan has notified that, as per a Higher Education Commission letter dated September 28, 2016, all candidates who have an A- and O-level education or any equivalent foreign qualification and are desirous for admissions at KU are required to submit Equivalence Certificate issued from the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen, Islamabad, at the time of admission.
