A baby monkey has been hitching a somewhat unusual ride at a farm in China's Yichun city – clinging on to the back of goat.

State broadcaster CCTV on Wednesday showed footage of the monkey clutching tightly on to a black goat, which appeared unfazed as it walked by a river and munched on leaves.

It quoted the farm owner as saying the monkey, which turned up at the goat farm at the weekend, appeared to feel more secure that way and had ridden on the back of several of the animals.

Local wildlife protection authorities said they will first send the monkey to the local zoo before releasing it into the wild, according to CCTV.
