Annual progress: NAB recovers Rs100m through plea bargain

Around Rs100 million has been recovered by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Sukkur, through plea bargain, claimed the bureau’s director-general (DG), Altaf Bawany.
He was detailing the annual progress of his office on Tuesday. Since its establishment in 2015, the NAB, Sukkur, had received 5,060 complaints and, after proper verification and investigation, 47 references were lodged with the bureau, he said. The accountability court and NAB also issued 180 and 199 arrest warrants respectively, he added.
Talking about the corruption cases, the DG said as many as 19 suspects were arrested, while 180 suspects were granted pre-arrest bails.
Our teams are also helping the Sukkur Electricity and Power Company and have managed to recover dues worth Rs395 million from defaulters, he said.
