Quaid-e-Azam Trophy: Sohaib Maqsood scores unbeaten 222 in SSG-UBL draw

Right-hand batsman played 212 balls, hit 25 boundaries and six maximums

Pakistan middle-order batsman Sohaib Maqsood scored his first-ever double ton in a Quaid-e-Azam Trophy match on Tuesday.



The 29-year-old, who is representing UBL in the tournament, took 212 balls to score 222 runs before the four-day match against SSGC was drawn.

SSGC, after being sent in to bat first, scored 291 runs in their first innings courtesy Fawad Alam's 108 off 194 balls. Mir Hamza bagged seven wickets for UBL.

In their reply, UBL saw centuries from Umair Khan and Akbarur Rehman while Sohaib went on to score a maiden double ton.


Other matches

In another drawn match between KRL and NBP, three centuries were scored by former's Abdul Rehman Muzammil (170), Saeed Anwar Jr (108) and latter's Usman Salahuddin (108).

The match between WAPDA and HBL was also ended in a stalemate with former scoring 361 in the first innings courtesy tons from Salman Butt and Mohammad Saad. HBL's reply was 269 while with at the end of day four, WAPDA were 90-1.

The only result came out of the match between PIA and SNGPL where the latter beat the former by six wickets.

After being invited to bat first, PIA could manage 280. SNGPL replied with 313 runs and bundled the opposition out for 189 in their second innings. With a 157-run target on the board, SNGPL achieved the target in 34.4 overs for the loss of four wickets.
