Englishman Dawid Malan helped guide Barisal Bulls to a seven-wicket win in the final over of the game against Chittagong Vikings in their Bangladesh Premier League match at the Shere Bangla Stadium in Dhaka.
Malan scored an unbeaten 78 off 48 balls, smashing a whopping seven sixes and three fours, to guide his side to 167-3 in reply to Vikings’ 163-3. He was well-supported by Shahriar Nafees (65 off 59 balls) as the two came together for a 150-run stand that took the game away from Vikings.
Pakistani pacer Imran Khan Junior, renowned for his canny slower deliveries, claimed 2-30 in four overs but was unable to prevent his team from sinking to defeat.
Earlier in the day, Bangladesh’s left-handed opener Tamim Iqbal had powered his side to 163 with a controlled 75 off 51 balls.
