126 SUSPECTS ROUNDED UP: Over 400 bikes, vehicles impounded
Various cases have been registered under anti-vagrancy laws

The police impounded 432 motorcycles and eight cars over the weekend after their drivers failed to produce registration documents. Police checked documents of bikes and vehicles at various checkpoints in the city. Bikes are usually given back to the owners if they show the documents to the police. Apart from vehicles, the police also rounded up 126 suspects over the weekend during checking and search operations in various areas. Police said they also arrested 20 beggars from various markets and intersections on Saturday and Sunday. SSP-Operations Sajid Kiani, a few days ago, had directed all sub-divisional police officers (SDPOs) and SHOs to launch a crackdown against beggars and professional alm seekers. Various cases have been registered under anti-vagrancy laws. Police say mischievous elements wander in the city in guise of beggars.
