Netherlands to sell Pakistani oranges

Pakistani oranges will be available to consumers in the Netherlands from February 25 onwards, says diplomat.

KARACHI:
Pakistani oranges will be available to consumers in the Netherlands from February 25 onwards, said a diplomat.

“We are organising a product launch of oranges in Hanos, one of the leading store chains in Benelux specialising in institutional supplies,” said Commercial Counsellor Muhammad Ashraf, according to a press release on Wednesday.

“With the support of Pakistan Horticulture Development and Export Company (PHDEC), we have launched a pull marketing strategy,” he added.

The commercial wing of the embassy has also devised a three-year comprehensive strategy to promote oranges in the Netherlands. “This is the second year of our strategy,” informed Ashraf.

With an intensive marketing campaign, Pakistan’s status as the leading producer and supplier of citrus fruits in the world is being recognised in the Dutch market, he explained, according to Pakistan Ambassador to Netherlands Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry.

Oranges were on display at an exhibition of the Pakistani fruit organised in Amsterdam recently by the commercial wing with the support of PHDEC.
