Hosts take an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match series

New Zealand Women defeated Pakistan Women by eight wickets on Sunday at Bert Sutcliffe Oval, Lincoln to claim the five-match ODI series 3-0.



Coming off after back-to-back losses, Pakistan won the toss and opted to bat first, putting a total of 263-6 on the board.

For the visitors, Javeria Khan (73) and Bismah Maroof (91 not out) put together a 117-run partnership, whereas openers Ayesha Zafar and Nahida Khan contributed with a score of 30 and 25 respectively.

Meanwhile, Amy Satterthwaite claimed two wickets for New Zealand, alongside Thamsyn Newton and Lea Tahuhu who claimed one wicket apiece.

Chasing 264, New Zealand skipper Suzie Bates scored 74, while Amy remained not out on 115 off 101 deliveries. This was her second century of the series as she previously scored a career-high 137 in Friday’s clash between the two sides.



Pakistan women defeated in first ODI against New Zealand

Sana Mir was the only wicket-taker for Pakistan, getting two scalps.

The fourth ODI is will be played at Nelson on Thursday.
