FAISALABAD:
City Traffic Police have launched a campaign to install reflectors and shiny stickers on all vehicles in order to minimise the chances of road accident during the foggy weather.

City Traffic Police Officer Asif Shahbaz informed the media on Saturday that education unit of the traffic police was using all available resources to control road accidents and paste reflectors on all vehicles, including donkey cards, truck, rickshaws and tractors.

Under this campaign, in the first phase over 5,000 reflectors have been handed over to traffic police incharge and he has been given the task to get the stickers installed on all vehicles, including slow-moving ones to avoid road accidents, he added. Asif said the aim of the campaign is to encourage and educate drivers and vehicles owners to ensure their vehicles are fit for the roads.

“It is the duty of the vehicles owners to cooperate with the traffic personnel for making the roads safer for themselves and for others,” he maintained.

“Slow moving traffic – Donkey, bull carts, bicycles, motorcycle rickshaw, pickups and tractors cause traffic accidents on the road frequently especially during the foggy weather,” he said, adding that therefore the traffic police have been asked to ensure all such vehicles should have reflectors at every cost. He said: “We are doing our best to arrest the trend of overloading on all types of vehicles.” He added that it was immoral to put the lives of the others at risk for the sake of little money.
